Gutted for you Dan. In my philosophical world I'd be muttering something along the lines of "spilt milk", but in reality even when I find a fresh car park dink in my 9 year old pug I feel like ripping someone's head off, so I know what you're going through mate.

When the wife's car got keyed last year I had all sorts of ideas and desires for justice / revenge but eventually we just had to let it go and cough up to get it resprayed, so knowing who did it (and the parents of said culprit) must be eating away at you. You'd be quite right to expect an apology and and an offer of payment but I somehow doubt it'll be forthcoming, perhaps a quiet word once the dust has settled would be advisable. :supafrisk:

It does occur to me though, that people in that part of the world may not feel the same about their cars as we do, we've all been to places where you never see a car with a straight panel, so maybe they just don't see it as an issue?

Cheers Dai,

the spilt milk philosophy is best i think now, i have sobered up a little (im nursing a hangover that might just kill me) and im looking at it more as another inevitable event, focusing more on how to remove the remaining damage, the father of the lad has had a go with some colour restoring polish that has helped with the scuffed areas but the fact still remains that i can see it shouting out at me every time i look at the car.

T-cut, coloured infill, polish and carnuba wax is my next plan, hell i might just end up like Bailes at this rate with his secret compounds and so on.

If all else fails i will just wait till its all a lot worse and claim on my insurance in a few months at the rate im going i think within a year it will be well fooked anyway.

As for cultural differences and all that, people here are just ignorant of others' feelings and dont seem to understand my affection for my car, it's the newest in the family and i think im being viewed as a bit of a flash Harry but i work hard and i want something to show for it, i spend about 4 hours a day of my 14 hour working day driving so a bit of comfort isnt too much to ask for in my opinion.

Dosent matter mate it still works,
My mate bought one a few weeks ago off some sales chap selling these kits out side a store,
ilaughed at my Mate for paying £34 for this kit, but he proved me wrong,
we scratched my old 406 with a screwdriver bottom of door and wiped the pen over it, it instantly coverd the scratch,
you just let it dry and then T-cut it afterwards,

ihonestly thought it was a Blag but it isnt,
the Pen as Fibreglass bristles and some chemical that collects a fine portion of paint and blends it into the scratch,
only thing is iwouidnt use it in direct sunlight, its best in a shaded place but on a warm day,

P*ed off at noticing a car park ding in my 12 year old Honda, so can only imagine how gutting it is to work hard, get a nice new C5 only for some wee get to use your car as a playmat!

Get an old Oltcit for family get togethers and keep the C5 for formal occasions.

I can see why you think that, but its actually "boy killer" as in "killer of small boy" not a boy who is a killer.

Much in the same way that "axe murderer" means "one who murders using an axe" rather than "one who murders axes" :cheesy:
