Does anyone remember the Astramax petrol vans? they could pull 130mph all day long

They were the 'Mercedes Sprinter' of speedy vans in them days.

IIRC the Bedford Astravan was the Astra-estate shaped van but the Astramax was the one with the box on the rear?

Me dad had the diesel of the estate-shaped van.

i mind the 305 vam was basically just an estate with no rear doors in fact the back floor just had a panel covering where the back seats went so there was a few 5 seater 305 vans it was an easy conversion. 305s used to be everywhere
i remember one though a red one with nice alloys and nice front fogs the man wrote off his 205 gti and put the engine into the 305 it was a quick van :cheesy:

They used to be everywhere, 305 vans. Newtownabbey Borough Council had a whole fleet in while with the lowercase "round font" nbc symbol.

it was strong when it entered the scrapyard, and remained sitting in the same spot for about 2 years.
