Travel safe!

And keep off the roads in the Netherlands. There are more bikes than cars.

i believe the hydropneumatic suspension in older citroens was capable of causing sea sickness because of its fluid nature

I can vouch for that.

Even made the dog sick.

My dad had a Xantia that he managed to get some sort of resonance on the go on a bumpy Donegal road, and near bounced it off the road!

But I do love the floaty nature of it.

aaarrgghhhh fscking sport modes.

Yes, lets all drive with ridiculously stiff uncomfortable suspension because some people might want to drive fast on the autobahn!

For our crappy roads we need developing-nation suspension, not billiard smooth road suspension!

thats what confuses me i know a lot or road tests of new cars happen in places like south africa where the cars have different comfy suspension the reviewers always cant wait till they get the uk suspension but why do you want firm suspension for bad roads.
The insignia we rented had awful suspension ive sat in smoother riding tractors.

I got in an X type once and was surprised that it wasn't as comfortable as the Xantia I had. Suspension gave a lot of road feedback, potholes, drain covers, ruts in the road etc.

It's because the German Marketing Machine told the UK public that they have to have sport suspension, now everybody wants it.

i dont like this german marketing machine, auto express seems to be part of it, every review seems to just say the german one is better.

You noticed it too!

Flicking through their news page, it seems to be "new BMW! new VW! new Audi!" when usually its just a slightly different trim, a rendering from a bored designer on a wednesday afternoon, or a slightly tuned engine variant.

They showed some speculative pictures of the next Golf, which looks like the current Golf but with slightly different headlights, with a headline something like:

"Best Golf ever revealed!"

They are in with the German car industry so much it's a wonder why they aren't called VAG/BMW Express.

the mk6 is a very lazy effort its just a facelift of the mk5 but its the best golf ever. id buy something else just because it wasnt a golf they are such a boring car.
although mercedes benz never seems to get as much praise as the other german makers in these reviews the 3 series always seems to be described as a better car than a c class but the merc is actually a much nicer car
