Is it also the same engine as they put in the Boxer vans?FarmerPug wrote:about the 2.5 which i think only ever was offered in the xm and 605, its hard to get much info on that engine is that a peugeot engine or a VM diesel?
Ducato got a 2.8 TD - mother's company had both. Probably still has them, just not using them. Currently has 2.2HDi Citroen Relays for the smaller vans.sirwiggum wrote:The boxer was the same as a Fiat Ducato, Fiat own Iveco (which make large vans), so possible they used their engines.
Early Peugeot / Citroen / Fiat / Talbot (could get a Talbot van well into the 90s) vans used XUDs.
My dad once had a Fiat Ducato camper with a 2.0 Peugeot engine pulled from a 405.
DK5, was a DJ5 in the 605?
The other diesel that I am aware of is a TUD, of the TU family, used in 1.5 variety for the 106, AX, Saxo, Metro/100 and Micra!
No doubt if tax then was now, they'd try and shoehorn it in the 406!
Thats an XD lump your thinking of. Theres a 2.5TD in the boxer van BASED on the XUDSTALLED wrote:Pffft - the 2.5TD is ancient...dates back to the 505 days IIRC!
As for the other choices out there - GTI-6 or nothing.
He pulled over 200bhp on his last engine. But this one he's had hell with. I think he's going for a 2.0 Hdi 306 engine with a 16v head off the newer HDi's and a mehcanically controlled pump now.CalamityJames wrote:Here's what a 306 1.9 XUD can do if you throw enough money at it, and apparently it had pump issues too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbpN4XnJg48#t=1m36s
