I remember a traveler man who came to the farm one time selling tools out of the back of his van, we had a look at the tools while a shifty chap looked around the farm, the tools were all cheap rubbish to be honest, then he tried to sell us a camcorder for whatever reason we would want one, my uncle said ive no need for one of them, but he took it out of the box and explained the features (it was quite a crap camcorder phone would have been better) but we didnt want to buy it, then he got a bit foul mouthed with us for not buying the camcorder, so we bought a saw to keep him quiet and he was on his way.
Strangley about a week later 2 of our chainsaws and a kango hammer were gone.

It'll have to be returned to its former, and we can all guess at who'll end up paying........

The stupid thing is it sounds like the land used to be a scrap yard? what's worse? - a scrappy or a plot of caravans? :?

I don't know why they don't negotiate a compromise......leave the caravans alone and then the council offices could gain themselves some new soffits and fascia's and maybe even get the car park re-tarmac'd

A scrap yard or a load of traveller's caravans - will anyone notice the difference?

It seems to me that it's a mistake to think of these people as "Gipsies" - proper Gipsies, or Romani, no longer exist as such having long since become part of society (BT was full of them). These are just the descendants of societal dropouts who are no more than thieving feral pests. They pick and choose which parts of the law they can use to their advantage while ignoring everything else. They should be encouraged back into society (and by this I do mean job, mortgage, taxes and everything else we have to suffer) not by massive handouts but by "slightly" decreasing their human rights.

By this I don't mean anything the Nazis would have done, but by increasing the grip the law has over them by:
issuing an open-ended search warrant over all travellers
the right to confiscate any/all property to which they can prove no title
the right to confiscate any/all property in lieu of taxes
given that any of them that commit crimes and are wanted by the police can just disappear back into the "community" and become untraceable, make them all equally accountable - "we can't find him, you'll do instead."

With Steve's back being off I'm not sure he'd be up to all that bending over to 'take one' from his coalition 'friend' in the cabinet :o

With those kind of policies, our Steve wouldn't need a coalition.

Its a tough scenario for travellers,
theres all difernt types of travellers, some will work, or live off the land, and some will theive and rip off old people etc,

so therefore they all get Tared with same brush,

when theyre born into this world, first thing they see is a Caravan this is home,
councils dont understand that they wont adjust to living in council houses, and they refuse them.

theyre are discriminated against because of there life style,
the familys on dale farm are doing no harm imho if anything id say it was everyone else doing the harm
they shouid leave them be and pick on other low lifes that fleece the country,

see how quick they found council houses for them?
you go into the council and ask for a house and see what answer you get,

atleast the travellers dont take council houses, big respect to them for that,

To those that slag them off, Have you personaly met them, ?
never judge abook by its cover, iknow alot of people who live in caravans and yes they are Gypsies as people call them,
they is nothing wrong with them,

id like to see someone discriminate them for the way they live,
