Well it's about to clock over to 90,000mile and it's had start/stop driving all it's life up until I got it off my Mum.

In it's life...

New clutch ~70k Considering the hard driving it's done, I'd say thats pretty reasonable
3 coil packs Ford items are weak, cheap pattern parts even more so. Now have an MSD coilpack
Front suspension has had to be overhauled Again, my Mum's hard on her cars and I'd say it's about right. Focus steering racks are known to be weak anyway
Rear bearings were replaced because the rear drums were worn, just a precautionary measure. The fact they've failed now is the mechanics fault.

Immob I think is a damp issue myself including the fried ECU.

It's hard a pretty hard life and my Mum dosen't notice niggly issues which is why they've gotten a little serious. So really I'm just catching up on 8 years of hard wear and tear.

Getting there slowly though :D

Mechanic took my car today, checked the bearing for wear, cleaned it out, regreased. Then pressed it back in and replaced the hub nut and retorqued it.
Hopefully thats it now :) Apparently it had just worked it's way loose.

Glad its not my car,
sorry no offence but removing a wheel bearing and packing it with grease is bad practice,
you wouid of been better off Replacing it for what they cost,

once theyre removed and refitted theyre as good as goosed imho

Don't think it's 'blown' itself off, theres no damage to the fitting.
I topped the oil up 2 weeks ago, maybe I didn't turn it far enough? It's a bayonett fitting sort of thing.

They can fall off if you don't hear them click/screw them down right, my mum decided to top up the oil and check the coolant on the clio after i pointed out where they were located, a few days later i had to go to the scrapyard to get both of them caps :cheesy:

It shouldn't blow itself off, is the breather pipe at the top clear of sludge?

Bought a litre of Gunk engine degreaser tonight and leant my grans steam cleaner.

Everywhere in my engine is covered in old, the reccessed in the bonet most have 500ml of oil in them? The bulkhead, sparkplug holes, EVERYWHERE!

Started to burn off on my way to/from work making me abit woozy and have a cracker of a headache :(
