I've never seen one of them before

I've been thinking about this one, when you jack a corner the wheel doesn't drop by a whole lot and I reckon this is the lower limit of the standard shock absorber. Adding spring lifters will maybe keep it there but there's the chance the car will become a bone shaker if you're not careful. It'll also burger up the steering geometry of course. More than this will probably need a different shock (coil over?) but then the geometry will get further out of reality and you'll end up with a car that doesn't handle and eats tyres.
The ride height of a Vitara would need some serious suspension work. It'd probably be easier to graft on the running gear from one.
I also had a look at the parts diagrams for that there 508 4x4 to see what they changed to raise the ride height - an easier question would be what didn't they change!!
