What about an lpg converted Jag, can they convert the v8 engine, i only see xj6's on ebay already converted to lpg, does the nikasil liners in the v8 have a problem running on lpg?

Hmm. Now there's an idea. I don't know how much it'd cost though, and I guess I'd have to sacrifice some boot space, or the spare wheel in order to accommodate an extra tank. The boot on the XK isn't as big as the boot in the Coupe (320 litres vs 390 litres).

EDIT: costs between £1,800 and £2,700, according to a bloke with a 4.2 litre XKR (Supercharged V8)

I refused to pay £2000 to insure my 406 this year which is why I got rid.
My Mondeo which is worth 12 times as much an has an extra 35bhp is £1100 less for me to insure.

Go Figure.

I've used fancy-pants Unleaded exclusively for the last 3 years and it pays for itself in better MPG - only just mind but it is not as 'expensive' as it first seems. Car's a lot snortier on it too

95ron fuel has a tendency to try to pre-ignite (pinking) so the ECU 'hears' the knock and retards the ignition straight away meaning for you to maintain the same pace you have to press on the gas just a bit more........
when me and my mates 1st started driving, 1 of them had a old fiesta (bout 1980 i think)all done up nice looked smart.
anyways he stuck a can of petrol lighter fluid (ya know the stuff:fill zippos with it) in with a full tank a fuel and he reckoned it made the car go like stink.probably not recommened for 10 grand jags tho :cheesy: or volvo's welly
