Damn, I could've told you that at the beginning. First job after school was in a tyre wholesaler & we used to send out loads of M&S tyres. Usually in 7.50x16 which was a really common Land Rover size.

Iwas just trying to work out what the M&s was all about,

for future reference realy, so iwill know wether to avoid M&s branded ones or not,

are the M&s tyres a softer compound/rubber compared to ordinary road use one's.?

iwill get some pictures of the tyre up and itl explain why iask,

the tyre wall is breaking up like a Re-mould wouid do, if you look at the tyre the top layer is coming off,

Not too sure on the technical aspects of the compound etc, but when I used to load them, they always seemed much more solid so potentially could be a bit more brittle. The main difference to note was really wide gaps in the treads.

Oooops, does this mean that if I don't remove my recently fitted winter tyres then they will not fare well during the summer months?

My Uniroyal Winter Tyres (with the snowflake/mountain symbol) also state M+S on them.

By March you should be removing Winter Tyres - they are very soft. I noticed straight away my car needing more steering input and the back end being a bit wayward on Winters so on a warm road it would be all over the place I guess. Mine are most likely coming off next weekend and going into storage.
