Current one I'll have had 8 years in September -- but it's MOT time between now and then :| Probably needs tyres.
Like mjb says: cars this old need new rubber bits.
It's a bit tatty, but it keeps working.

Previously, a 1.9 LX (R 908 XHJ) that lasted 11 months. Was a lemon. Part exchanged and presumed scrapped.

Before that, a Renault 5 1.4 (E 605 SWU) that I scrapped, and before that a C plate Mk II Fiesta that rusted away.

I can't imagine not having my 406, and it's probably the best car I will ever own. However, I am very 407-curious, although I keep seeing V12 jags on ebay for £1k or so -- could be fun to run one till it drops (so a couple of months). Ditto 328i -- on the grounds that the inline 6 is the canonical BMW engine and it's perfectly mechanically balanced (like the V12).

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.
