why are tractors slow?

Blimey, you've got red uns.
Ours are all white. You know those rusty, boxy fords that were designed with a slide rule and have cabs that look way too big.
Really they're a positive force in the universe - they're my justification to the misses of why I need 'safe overtaking performance', currently lacking from the diesel 406

About the tractor just being an engine and gearbox with a seat on top that isnt far off, here was ours when it was in getting the gearbox fixed:

Because of the 3 point linkage on the back if you load a link box or heavy machine on the back, the front wheels have very little weight so you have to drive them by splitting the brakes. at times the steering wheel can become obsolete and you end up driving a see saw

Did you put it through a boil wash or is it an attempt at a euro style tractor - dinky lil wheels....

Thats an orchard/vineyard tractor, its made narrow so that it can fit in between the apple trees without damaging the fruit.
The disadvantage is that if you turn the steering wheel a bit enthusiastically it can topple over.
