Re: 505 4 sale

I have a soft spot for the old 305 and 505. My uncle has a 505 way at the back of his shed, beside a porsche 924, I've told him that ill buy the 505 off him some day, but realistically the 505 is only good for parts, 20 years in a damp shed has caused lots of rust which not even he was aware of, i took a torch one day and inspected it, the rear inner wheel arches are completely rotten where the suspension mounts to, even the paint on the roof has flaked off with big patches of rust, the interior is all mouldy and the steering has a weird mould on it, and the gearstick has just disintegrated completely. So it depends on what sort of barn it was stored in.

Is it nigeria or kenya where they kept building the 505 until very recently?

Might as well get some GTI badges and stick em on your 2.2 Sonia, it probably has twice as much poke as the 505 (we used to have one as a family car, nowhere near as good as the 504 it replaced... now that was a good car)
