Best of luck on the journey Blue. If there's one things 406's are good for, it's long motorway journeys. You'll be in arm chair comfort all the way.

Just out of interest, its where I was born.
We're spending a night in the Netherlands before going across to the Wacken Festival in Germany for a few days camping before a night in Hamburg and another night in Dusseldorf on the way back home. Can't wait.

If my 406 doesn't die before then, it'll have been a lot cheaper than just flying over to the festival and much, much better :D

Ain't that the truth.

Did 5000 miles to Spain & back at the beginning of the year and could have done it all again. Totally relaxed driving.

Anyway, all the best Blue, hope you have a trouble free journey.

With several 600+ mile journeys in my 6 under my belt, I most definately agree with that statement!

I said:

"Unfortunately, Minden near Hannover. North of Bielefeld and Vlotho.
But I want to go to Phantasialand on the 23rd. If you're up for it, we can meet there"
.

Phantasialand is a theme park near Köln (Cologne) which is a damn sight closer to MaDcOw than the place I'm heading for initialy.

Hehe too bad your not doing a nice Nürburgring tour. Then I could stay in bed till an hour before you got there lol.

I've always wanted to drive to the UK, but I fear the left street side. :P

Maddy, driving in the UK is not much fun really. Our road surface quality is very bad.

In fact, over here BMW owners with 18" wheels complain bitterly that the car is 'all over the road' and feels unstable whereas in Germany they have no problems because the road surface is as flat as a pancake with no bumps and lumps like ours.

....carry on.

Back home.

1000+ miles more on the clock and she's doing fine.

Spent most of the last two weeks on the German autobahns cruising at 90mph and several long stretches at 100.
Not one single complaint.

I do, however, have a surprise for you all. Will reveal all tomorrow... look out for a new thread.
