You have no faith in pug engines then??steve_earwig wrote:the roads will be covered in oil slicks and Peugeot engine parts

They do it to bikers on slippery roads too, not funny. I do have a solution to bad drivers but I found 4x4 door mirrors are too high to kick off...V6Exec wrote:Doing 40mph round a roundabout with my rear view mirror filled with the radiator grille of a 4x4 was rather disconcerting. The vehicle was close enough (less than 600mm/2 foot)that a missed gear change would have resulted in a rear end shunt. On the run out from the roundabout I went to the limit in 2nd to give me distance before I changed gears.
Ooooooh you know how to hurt stevesteve_earwig wrote:What's the point, all I could chase with the D9 is cyclists and tractors...
That is the best option. Sometimes the way to achieve that is to leave them behind. Last thing I want at times is a chav box on my tail down a wet country lane.steve_earwig wrote:I'd stay away from the chavs
Ouch - that has got to hurt. I had a ZX which sheared the engine mounts, almost dropped its drivetrain on the road. One of the lads at work had an escrote van which dropped its engine on the road one day.steve_earwig wrote:Incidently, I still know the guy I sold the mk1 16 valver to, it eventually dropped its gearbox in the road![]()
The roundabout thing was nothing to do with bad driving. The driver of the 4x4 was generally a good and considerate driver. It was personal, that day they decided to try and play car sumo with me. Not a game I wanted to get involved with and never on a public road.steve_earwig wrote:They do it to bikers on slippery roads too, not funny. With the roundabouts, the other driver had a distinct lack of testosteronesteve_earwig wrote:testosterone does not a sane driver make
