is it the 1.9 TDi?

if so, I think it's gone into 'limp mode'. there's loads of things that can cause it. Depending on the year, if both of your breaklight bulbs are blown it goes into limp mode. On ours it's something to do with the boost regulator valve. A work around was take the small hose off the airfilter box. this seemed to bring it back to life.
