Re: Stuck in snow with scary MFD warnings
well if anything happens the bike or the rider's not stopping anytime soon either so it kind of cancels out...

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Then (several years later) I fitted a permanent outrigger to another bike, a sidecar

The three of us did 135,000 miles in 7 years on that (I meant to put 3 0s on the end of 135, it isn't a typo

It takes quite a bit of effort to flip a combo', well mine anyway and they don't fall over on slippery roads.
I was a squaddy, posted to Germany, where we stayed for the 7 years.
In that time we came back to the UK twice (1,000 mile trips). For the rest of my leave time we toured Europe, going to bike rallies all over the place I was able/allowed to travel to.
Our combo' was our only transport and on one of my postings it was a 2 mile drive just to get from our married quarter to the main gate. If we wanted to go anywhere at all, it was a choice of shanks pony or the combo'

Re: Stuck in snow with scary MFD warnings
I had plenty of fun today aswell on the Desborough to Corby road (Welly and dogslife will know where i mean
) one of my work mates managed to go off road and slightly dint a telegraph pole
so i tried to pull him back onto the road with my 406 and ended up going down a small slope and couldn't get any traction to get back up! luckily a 4x4 came along and pulled me back on the road but i think my mate had to wait for a friendly tractor he was pretty well beached. I really must stop over-estimating my cars abilities

Former 406 owner, now just another chav in a 306 D turbo!
