It's the Scarb to Whitby road (A171) which is the bad one in winter, if it snows you can put money on it that it will get blocked. Last time it snowed before Christmas i was on my way back over the moors on the 171 and there was a rolled ambulance at the side of the road. I read in the local rag the day after that they were carrying someone in the back
Can anyone else spot a potential side-swipe of Tooty's motor there?
Dai, your lad has made a gallant effort but I'm affraid it lacks realism and depth - his grasp of applying (and shaping) the snow product is a cause for concern, indeed I would have prefered to see the traditional carrot-derived nose apendage and a hat/scalf combo. In addition, the plastic garden junior golf set derived arms/hands would have been much better as twiggs
And Dai, if you are going to photograph the great outdoors, you could at least actually go outdoors
I thank yaw

Funny you should say that, they've got snow photos on Aussie Frogs which he's a member of!

On the foglamps thing, last night I dropped my other half off for a meeting, on the way back I got waved to stop by a copper with a red light because of a(n all too common) crash. Thing is, there was a patrol car the other end with it's main beams on pointing up the road so I could hardly see the copper and if I'd have been doing any sort of speed there's no way I would have seen him in time. So, while I was stopped, I got out that car and tried to tell the guy he was going to get squished. I couldn't make myself understood though and just got told to get back in my car Ah well, I tried
Madness Steve
The amount of cars I've seen slipping & sliding over the last couple of days is mind blowing. We took the kids out sledging on Monday and I helped give 3 cars a push that had bounced into the kerb and got stuck

Cheers Welly, the whole tribe have just wet themselves at your snowperson appraisal

It was cold outside Welly , why am I gonna bother going outside and freezing my bits off setting up a tripod (that's a 2 sec exposure) when I can rest the camera on top of the telly? I prefered this one, zoomed in a bit with a 4 sec exposure, but it's on the piss a little as the top of the telly ain't flat, when I tried to retake that same shot holding the camera upright I got a bit of shake. So please appreciate the efforts I've gone to to bring you the joy and wonder of my snow covered locality, should the snow return tonight as promised I'll get out my tripod and brave the elements in an attempt to create a piece of photographic art that meets your exacting standards. Mind you that window is pretty bogging ain't it? Mrs Dai is in for a bollocking!
