was it 4 pot by any chance? the 4 pots are complete buckets in comparison to the 6 pots

Bigger engine = not working so hard, to a point
I forgot, that one we had was an E46 not 36
I saw all the trouble BMW had with E46's having the rear sussy mounts pulling out of the floor pan (on 6-cyl models) and dealers would, for a while, re-shell the thing up to 8 years old??? as long as it had full history etc etc
this is why most would say the older ones are better.

I must admit im not a fan of the newer ones. but then theres not a lot of new cars i do like..
i do agree with what you say. sometimes its better to have a bigger engine as it doesnt need to work as hard as a smaller engine to do the same job.
