Cheers Lozz. T'wife just went in to brush her (she's in her bedroom) but she's sound asleep and snoring. Aw bless :D

Anyway, some pictures, 'cos life, you know.

It's all a lot more obvious with the tubes and cables in:
Image

Image

Image
The dangley cables are for the lights, as they'll probably be run up on top of the plasterboard (probably, I've no idea what lights we're going to have yet)

These are for the washer & drier
Image
Note the earths below - they need to be earthed?

I made myself up a couple of guards to stop the grinder catching in the urethane foam and insulation and flipping out of my hands. They work too.
Image

Image
The grinder just scuds along them making a whirring noise.

I took this one because I spotted even more earths (the wires head off to my main pipework)
Image
but then I noticed how much dust you could see in the picture  That's a while after I'd finished sanding too.

The earths do seem a bit mad, it looks like he's earthing everything, pipes, taps, the lot. The shortest path to earth is through you to the nearest inanimate object  Thing is, if you touch a live but no earth you just get a warning tingle, if you just happen to be leaning against something that's earthed you'll be testing the sensitivity of the RCD, which I think it was Doggy that pointed out, aren't anything like sensitive enough here and would pass enough current to stop someone's heart.

And what about nearby lightening strikes? Everything in the house will be lethal!

What is the point of having the taps on a plastic bath properly earthed?

Hold on, I've not moved in a while, should I stick an electrode up my arse so I'm properly earthed?

Betty has gone.

She woke up from the sleep in agony, cramps and fighting for breath. Mirela, the vet, was here in probably less than 10 minutes. She asked us what we wanted, she could give her something for the cramps and pain but she almost certainly wouldn't make it through the night, probably dying in agony in a few hours. My wife said no, that's enough suffering, so she was PTS.

Betty would have been 14 on April 24th, in golden retriever years she was well over 100.

We're ok, more-or-less. I'm surprised at Mary though, rushing about whining and she vomited a few times, when her sister died she looked round for her for a while but no real stress, so I guess the bond must have been stronger with her mother.

Sorry to hear she's gone, but at least she's not suffering now.
Make a fuss of Mary, but try not to overdo it, our single surviving cavalier now can't be left on his own since losing the other two.
Can't help but think that's our fault somehow. We get by borrowing daughter next door's labrador, or younger daughter's cavalier.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Really sorry to hear this mate, logged on especially to see how you were getting on. As others say at least Betty is at peace and didn't suffer for too long.

Thanks guys. We're doing ok, it's not like it was with Vicky, a bolt from the blue, we could see this one coming so it wasn't too much of a shock.

I saw your replies earlier but I wanted to pick out some pictures, but that's a bit of a minefield with all the pets (and relatives) we've lost in the last few years. SO I skimmed through and picked a few out.

Betty had a lovely life, (certainly much better than the majority of dogs in Croatia), a huge garden to run around, plenty of nice grub, a bed to sleep on and hardly ever wore a collar (and certainly never got tied to anything :frown: ). Obviously we will miss her but we've nothing to feel bad about.

We still have Mary and Scooter, and 6 cats of course :supafrisk:

And the bodyshop did a fine job also.

That looks ok 8) I can't see it in the picture but did they put back the bit of anti-chip underwotsit in the corner? That's exactly where mine got hit and I got into a tizwaz with the repairer as he just put a bit of clear vylin there but nobody could tell me what Pug actually used :frown:
