Peugeot 607 2.2E COVERED WITH BLANKETS EVERY EVENING

a very strange person wrote:I care much for my car and spoil it more than women, and every evening I cover it with a quilt to have nice bye-byes so it is happy and lively the next day. I am selling it exclusively to that customer that will continue to nurture and look after it, like I normally do, otherwise no sale. With the car the buyer gets a goose down quilt and its blankets. Call me exclusively during the day, in the evening my car and I sleep. Thank you for your understanding.

Worryingly, I know where he's coming from

Me and Miss Pug are not quite there - won't be long...

Covering a car with blankets, what happens when they get damp wouldnt that be an ideal habitat for rust to start?

Thank you for asking but no, no Holiday for us this year simply can't afford to. I did have a weak-cough last week? week before? who knows but otherwise generally too busy with work related crap of late.

I have a feeling my presence will continue to reduce a tad though but I can also see that your goodself and Sam are doing a sterling job so I don't feel like I'm letting anyone down by not being here so much.

I did see the 'meet' photos, think I worked out which one you were - tall athletic type with thick wavy hair? I shoulda gone to be honest, and wish I did now.

Car-wise I've just wasted nearly £200.00 on a fruitless pursuit of a self-diagnosed 'noise' from the Aux Beltage area by having another set of gates belts and tensioners :frown: and to-very-morrow it is down at the shop to be furnished with a new Cam Belt and water pumpage fitment which fills me with dread and a tiny glimmer of hope at the same time that this 'ere noise will be put to bed :frown:

All the best for now :)

I wouldn't. £1k's not that cheap and it's only a GLX.
You shouldn't pay any more for an exec of similar age/miles/condition and then you'd have all the toys, (leather, memory, cruise, 5-dial clocks et al).

Reckon that'll finish up at more than £1300 in auction. Good colour combination, already defapped & obviously fairly well looked after. Only problem with 406 coupes really is the insurance.

Has anyone ever drove one of these turbo CT citroens?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171108605086? ... 1423.l2649

Seems like a bit of a bargain, although its hard to know what the reserve is.

Those Activas handle like nothing else on earth - the record top speeds on the Swedish Elk test manoeuvre say a lot -
Citroën Xantia Activa V6 -99 - 85km/h
Porsche 996 GT2 -04 - 82km/h
Porsche 997 Carrera 4S -08 - 82km/h
Porsche 997 GT3 RS -08 - 82km/h
Porsche 997 GT2 -08 - 81,5km/h
Porsche 997 Carrera S -08 - 81km/h
Porsche 997 Carrera S Cabriolet -05 - 81km/h
Audi R8 4,2 FSI -08 - 80km/h
Chevrolet Corvette C6 -05 - 80km/h
I seem to recall that the turbos aren't too quick as standard, but can certainly be tweaked to shift rather nicely.

Here is a cheap 405:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... NA:GB:3160

It has plenty of MOT failure points, but one i find interesting
offside front seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded

How do MOT testers know this, even in the old 405 the seatbelt reel bolts to a part of the car which is well hidden with plastic trim, do MOT testers pull the trim out of the way to look at seatbelt mounts, or does this refer to the mounting point on the seat?
