they are nice but i think they would be FUBAR within about 20km here, sadly Polish roads still have a way to go to by considered "roads" by anybody even remotely civilized.

The 17s are ok but even those i worry about on my daily commute and this is after i have changed my route a little to suit a "road" car rather than the route i used to take in my Discovery, still the country is in a building frenzy at the moment spending all that lovely european money it has got :cheesy:

The hydropneumatic suspension in a big Citroen does take a while to get used to, Farmerpug. It feels like you are in one of those star-wars cars, floating above the ground.
Some passengers hate it, a recipe for car sickness, but it's great when you get used to it, can waft about like a big Jag / Roller.
And if you are feeling sporty, can switch the hydro3 into "Sport" mode to stiffen the suspension up for the twisties!
Renewal, spheres are like oil filters, big wrench, twist, off, screw new ones on. Easier than shocks and springs!

As for big alloys, having had big alloys with low profiles on an Alfa before and going through a tyre nearly every month, and from an anecdote of a VXR owner who hit a pothole, big alloys aren't suitable for Northern Ireland roads either. Glad the Honda has daft looking balloon tyres.

I'm not sure if it applies to hydropneumonia 3 but you used to be able to get the spheres re-pressurised, provided they're not too far gone - they were designed to puncture the diaphragm when they go flat :frown:

My mate had one of the old BX's , so comfortable on a long run , and
as stated so easy to maintain the spheres.

I had 245/45/18s on the Beemer back in blighty but due to the weight of the car (2.1tonnes) it being a 7 series they had the Heavy Duty load side walls and even living in the better part of manchester with decent ish roads i still managed to knacker a few of em up, they were far from cheap too.

Now I have 225/55/17 michelin primacy rubber all round and i am dreading the first replacement to be honest, never mind when winter comes and i have to shell out for a full set of winter tyres, new steel wheels and 4 tyre pressure sensors plus the cost of coding the feckers to my beloved C5, still its coming up to summer now i will worry about the tyres when i need to, im too busy enjoying the power and torque right now :cheesy:

one thing though, from the look of the picture of your car parked up your c5 looks very fancy in compared to everything else around it which all looks like bargain basement stuff.
with the new car are you worried about putting it in a car park, if i had it id be wrapping it in bubble wrap, and putting cones around it before leaving it in a car park for old mrs dozy hyundai driver to slam her door right into your car.

Where i took the pics was just round the corner from where one of my main contracts is and also where i have been allocated my own parking space and luckily there it is fairly far from other cars so pretty much safe from dings but sadly you have to accept that even with the most careful of parking and thought that somebody will eventually ding it, thats life.

but yes i want to wrap it in cotton wool and hug it all day long

I want to say no its a rarity but after my last visit to the UK a couple of weeks ago I can say its a damn site more popular here in Warsaw than back there.

I would say I see at least a couple each day on my drive through the city, in 7 days back in Manchester,Newcastle and Leeds covering well over a 1000 miles I saw the sum total of 1 of the "new" C5s and that was a standard trim level saloon.
