valeo do a solid conversion kit with a new clutch for £250, that what i plan to do when the time comes.
Although i dont plan to change the clutch i dont like the look of these fancy transverse mounted engines.

Why can't you just find a HDi90 flywheel though?

I'd say no with the power upgrade with the AL4...

The torque will make the box go all funny with the pre-defined shift points and the like. It's a nasty unit to start with, avoid.

at £250 its not much more than a clutch and it does mean you have the assurance of everything being new and made for the hdi 110, the kit even has the thrust bearing, my mechanic quoted £100 to put it in.

Suppose thats not too bad.
My reasoning, aswell as the solid crank pully is simply to make the engine more reliable and make sure theres less to go wrong in the first place. Last thing I want is the pully letting go and taking the timing belt out (common fault)

Mines had the Dmf replaced with a solid fly wheel,
the engine is alittle more Rockier compared to the Dmf, ithink, i compared mine against the Se ihad that had the D.m.F there is a Differnce, not much tho,

The clutch seems a lot lighter tho,

ive heard the Solid fly wheel conversion causes the engine to go thru Botom engine mounts, dont know if thats true tho,
there not much left of the one on mine iwill have to get it changed shortly befores its Metal on Metal :(

The bottom engine mount was nackered on my TD when I had it. So replaced it.
6 months later you could tell it was already on it's way and starting to get a little play in it (Genuine pug too).
So I got some Polyutherane sealent and filled the bush up with Polyutherane (comes in a tube like silicone sealent).
Made it like new again and the gear changes much smoother :D
Plus most my driving will be motorway miles once I start my apprentaship so not too much strain.

I think I will just foot the bill and get the 110 SE/Exec.
At the end of the day I'l get what I want. I wish the first time I stuck to my guns and get a GLX instead of just getting whatever was open to me first.

the jbl system is quite good, although mine has a casette the sound quality was good, although currently i think a plugs loose as it cracks a bit over bumps, i pugged it in before which solved it, need to do that again, Its not so powerful that it will blow a womans clothing off, but its just right for the inside of the 406.
You dont need sat nav, if you can get a type c display that works right they are a very good job, for the 2 trips, that lets you do a long term mpg and the mpg for that trip.
are you getting black leather or cream?

If I get an SE (prefered) then it will be Black leather with Blue Cloth.
If I get an exec I will be looking for black leather.
Im only wanting a Diablo, Black or that nice electric blue colour :)
If I get a diablo or black SE I will be having the seats retrimmed to replace the blue cloth with red leather :)

I don't think exec seats would suit the multi coloured thing

The only decent picture of the sort of thing I want...
