they replaced the front and rear height sensors for the hydractive suspension and the front N/S (UK) shocker and oil for said shocker, as for getting my money back it is now logged at my local citroen stealer awaiting clearing or denial by the warranty team, i reckon i will get about 70% back as the shocker only has a 6 month warranty on it as its classed as a consumable part, we will see, I have told the wife whatever she manages to recover from the stealer we can spend on a christmas holiday for us, so she has a good reason to stay on their backs :cheesy:

Just had a call from the stealers,

they are refunding all costs accrued back in Blighty :cheesy: ,

so that means both the sensors and the damper which was originally thought to be outside of warranty as it is classed as consumable, the only issue i have with the repayment is that they want me to issue an invoice to them for the total amount and they will then pay me on the basis of that invoice, but sadly this means i will have to include the payment from citroen in my taxable income for this month :frown: and end up paying 18% tax on the monies received, still its better than nowt which i thought was a serious contender for a while.

Since you are having to invoice them, (which clearly requires some admin work) and bearing in mind you have effectively 'loaned' them the money by having it repaired in the UK at your cost, I can't see any reason why you can't make a reasonable charge for this, possibly based on your/your good lady's time at whatever hourly rate you have established in your normal occupation.

Don't forget any incidental expenses, (car hire, public transport, % of phone bill etc etc.).

So long as it's justifiable and eminently reasonable it might wash.

If their 'system' won't let them do this, haggle for a credit against some future expense/goodies

it seems fair to me doggy, i was going to uplift the invoice by 25% based on today's exchange rate too as this works slightly in my favor also, as you stated i have been out of pocket on this for two weeks now so i dont think it is unreasonable and once you add in the 18% tax rate it is only fair in my opinion.

I am going to try and swing the UK invoice through my accounts also to try and offset the liability a little the only problem i can see at this point is that they want a VAT invoice and i am unable to charge VAT as teaching is a VAT exempt occupation :?
