Re: So glad I didn't get a C5...
I nearly went for a 2003 C5 Executive (similar to Exclusive), all the toys, 2.2 HDi automatic.
I phoned to ask was it still there but when I went to look at it he'd upped the price to £1995 and gave some excuse about a headlight bulb.
Then taking it for a test drive, the MFD lit up like the starship enterprise under attack.
Left it and ended up with the Honda.
Wouldn't mind a good facelift mk1 C5 though, big diesel good on fuel.
I've replaced spheres before too on the Xantia, piece of cake. Like oil filters.

autotrader is great for car specs, look up the same car and you get good information:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
anyhow 0-60 in 11.3 seconds is good, the 110 406 was 12.5
just make sure the oil gets changed regularly on the 1.6 engine to avoid the turbo exploding

Don't mind a high miler thats been looked after, lease / contract cars are likely to at least have a service history and no items skimped.

Indeed I've seen fleet cars that have had not really necessary work (as in new clutches, early belts etc) just so the garage would have something to do!
