I've been there, I seem to remember sanding the paint off the back of the pads, then covering them with copper slip. I suppose there won't be any asbestos in them any more so you could probably have sanded the fronts.

I thought maybe you didn't care so much as you'd be replacing them before too long anyway, are the tyres bald again yet? :cheesy:

whenever i have had new brake parts (before i started to do the work myself) the garage would always say avoid full on braking for 250 miles. easier said than done at all times, but no taking the piss like.

sanding the pads? you serious? surely you'd cause major problems if the area you removed wasnt even?

sorry guys, i didnt mean to drag this back up - i was viewing it after using the search doofer and didnt relaise it was so old.
