Re: Wheres everyone from?
Im from Stourbridge in the West Midlands, 13 miles due west from Birmingham. I love where i live TBH because 10 minutes further west we are in Shropshire and pure lovely countryside. Commute everyday to Stratford upon Avon, nearly 550 miles a week, still a job is a job as they say.

I'm from the town of Corby in northern Northamptonshire, Corby is about 30% English speaking as it was colonised during the 1930's - 1960's mostly by gentlefolk fae Bonny Scotland. Its about 1 century ahead of the surrounding area.welshviking wrote:Hi, I'm from the town of Connahs Quay in North east Wales, Connahs Quay is a 99% English speaking town as we are only 4 miles from the England border...Chester being the nearest City (9 miles away)

Home is in a little place called Cardenden, which is near a bigger place called Kirkcaldy.
Kirkcaldy is just north of Edinburgh, but it's a 30 mile drive cos of a pretty big river, which helps to keep those city types out of our hair
.
Kirkcaldy is sort of famous for a couple of things. It's smell, it used to be the centre of Lino' manufacturing, the factories are long gone (apart from one small one) and so is the smell
.
It's also sort of famous, because some economist from a long long time ago came from there. He was Adam Smith and he wrote a book called The Wealth of Nations, it's still used by economists today. So in retrospect, it's his fault that we're in this financial mess, unless the silly buggers forgot to have a quick shufty at his book,to check what he'd said about there latest idea.
Home is Cardenden, but I'm a long distance truck driver, so I live in hotel Mercedes most of the week.
I've even been to Thurso by the way, several times. It's a loverly drive up there in a big truck
.
The Braes of Berrydale make it errrmmm...... interesting
