P11's aren't actually too bad for rust, they were built in Sunderland so received plenty of rust proofing!

Nissan quality has definitely gone downhill.

Me old man has a Navara works van, and the engine blew on him. Apparantly a common fault with mid-2000s Navaras, yet Nissan wont acknowledge a fault.

Aye they're based upon the post-2001 Laguna, which even compared to the mk1 Laguna went downhill.

The prettier halfs dad has a mk1 diesel with high mileage, it never misses a beat.

Once worked with someone who had the mk1, traded to a mk2 and was sick of it. Traded it in for a 316i

Seems Nissan didn't learn their lesson from the "Nissan Cherry Europe / Alfa Romeo Arna"....

I drove my girlfriend's dad's Laguna 2 (my mum has a Laguna 1) and it feels awful to drive, I mean my mum's isn't exactly setting the world on fire being a 1.6 petrol but the Mk 2 felt dire!

Not my cup of tea whatsoever, but they seem to be popular.

Especially with the "park right beside you in an otherwise deserted supermarket car park and whack my higher car door into yours" brigade.

They're not bad cars actually, although be careful with the diesels, they have HDi-esque particulate filter problems. Guy from work has had to take his to Nissan as it's got stuck in limp mode because he doesnt do enough out of town driving in it!

:cheesy: I never thought about that! Oh dear!

Here's the leaflet one person got with their 1.5 dCi Qashqai:
As soon as poss after DPF warning light illuminates - you should drive speed above 40mph until the light goes out - depending on the amount of soot this can take up to 30 minutes

The vehicle may enter fail-safe mode and limit engine speed to max 3000rpm... to recover from this condition SERVICE REGENERATION has to be carried out by workshop equipped with Nissan diagnostic equipment. In addition to this service regeneration, the engine oil and filter must be replaced

If service regeneration is required it is not a fault with the vehicle and will not be covered under warranty

It's only 'cos they're comparatively cheap to lease, and I really don't get why that is 'cos they aren't all that cheap to buy.... surely the residual value isn't that good?

I don't think I'd actually be able to do it when it comes to signing on the line though.

the quashqui is a good car my dad wants to change the primera for one we have been on autotrader the past few weeks looking for a 1.6 petrol (should be a reliable engine) then the primera lpg kit can be swapped over.
they seem like a nice idea you get the raised driving position but otherwise its a normal car.
we have been looking for the tekna model its the one with a big panaramic windscreen and leather.

Cool,
iwouidnt put the lpg on a quashQuai mate,
it wouid involve having the Valves up rated ithink,
My mate as a Modern honda running on Gas, you shouid see how many sets of Spark plugs that thing goes through a month, it burns the core straight out of them,
if it can do that to plugs think of what it can do to valves,
Many a company are fitting these lpg kits but id like to see How many get Uprated valves, :?
