Please god no.

This would make old cars very valuable.

Well they are scrapping the MOT for 50 year old cars, but for example cars of a certain age don't need rear seatbelt checks, high level brake light, rear fog light etc. etc.
However are likely to fail on rust or some failed suspension component etc.

Please forward the following text to at least 5 of your contacts – or more if you are able. Thank you,

I’m one of the 300,000 strong on line community of FairFuelUK. Last week, we pulled off what many people thought was ‘impossible’ – we stopped the 3p per litre August fuel duty hike. FairFuelUK need a million supporters signed up at www.fairfueluk.com to fight even harder for a better deal on petrol & diesel. Please help them to help us by simply signing up (it’s free and takes about 20 seconds) and forward this to as many contacts as you can urging them to sign up and forward on. The more that sign up, the more we can achieve…..

The FairFuelUK campaign is backed by the RAC, the RHA, the FTA and The Fuelcard Company

129.9 for unleaded at the pay at pump Maxol near Carryduff.
Though its 136.9p at Downpatrick.

Thing is, it is a finite resource that is probably past its peak given that oil exploration is getting more tricky from places that previously weren't worth exploring. Fuel will have to get more expensive until leccy car technology improves and nuclear power stations are brought online.

Why can't we just use biofuels?
In Sweeden 80% of Ford Focuses sold run on Bioethanol.
It's been proven that ALL diesels will run on well made Biodiesel.

So we aren't we mass manafacturing Biodiesel and making cars that run on Bioethanol?

There are two perfectley good replacements for fossilfuels and yet everyones going down the path of electric cars.

Now I see the point in a Hybrid. I would love a Vauxhall ampera! You plug it in and charge it overnight which gives you 40 miles, when that runs out it swtiches on a petrol generator. That means I would get to work for less than £1 on electricity and come home on Petrol. Imagine that with an LPG conversion! Uber cheap motoring!

I think the problem with biofuels is the land and farming effort needed to grow the crop needed.

Biofuels from old chip fats etc. though in my opinion is a good use of what is otherwise a waste item.
Used to run the ZX on biodiesel from a local petrol station, ran well but the smell of chips always made me hungry :)

Noticed that, the Ballygowan Texaco was 131.9 at the weekend, 133.9 this morning.

Sneaky gets are creeping back up again.

Though I seem to get closer to the 28mpg that Parkers suggests I should get with longer runs these days

(0-60 feels quicker than the 10 seconds it is quoted as. Has beaten a few 320ds off the lights)

I think the price of a 'barrel' has risen above $100.00 or something so the price rise is a reaction to that
