It was a bit of a suprise, the car didnt drive any differently last week, there was no creaks or warning noises that the spring was on its way out. Parked it up on monday, and didnt use it until friday, it must have happened as it sat. There was a few frosty nights during the week.
Can they let go when your driving? That would be extremley dangerous if it happened on the motorway.
No mate, it dont like veg oil, it will run on it if it put abit in with straight derv,
but its not worth the Messing around,
the 406 was Saved and put back on the road, but it didnt drive straight or feel right,
My mate is using it now its spending its last days pulling a car trailer,

When I was looking for a new car I looked at a few Kias, the dealer in Cardiff told me that if I got one from them that was less than 18 months old they'd bump the warranty back up to the full 7 years from the date of purchase. Might be worth asking the question of your dealer mate

I actually asked about having the warranty bumped back up to 7 on the test drive, the salesman didnt say it was possible, but perhaps someone in the dealership who knows their stuff would be better to ask. Still a good warranty though.
Its a C apostrophe D same as what the reasonably priced car is (possibly the diesel engine being different) and the thing about this facelifted model is on the boot its wrote just as "CEED" the pre facelifts were "C'EED"
Springs snap on all cars. I don't think it's a 406 think personally. I do think the top mounts are a bad design and do contribute to the springs snapping. Maybe the top mounts should become a serviceable item? every 2 years like the brake fluid?
Love the Cee'd! My Uncle replaced his 2008 Citreon C5 with 24,000miles on it for a Hyundai i30 (old shape) 1.6 diesel because the C5 was falling to bits. Must say I am pretty impressed with it!

So is it C'EED or Cee'd? or has farmerpugs dad's apostrophe been stolen?

The reason i picked the ceed for him was he spent 6 weeks looking for the honda, ringing me nearly every day to look at different ads, so i looked at kias after he looked at an i30, the new 2012 ceed is very nice, although they are more expensive your left wondering why would you pay more for a golf.
I appear to be mistaken on the location of the aforementioned and much famed apostrophe, it is sitting proudly on the bootlid:

The tax/log book from the DVLA doesn't acknowledge this apostrophe
Hi FP, the snapping springs is pretty common on a lot of cars now and they always seem to snap when left unattended one theory being that if the car is parked with a bit of lock on the steering then the spring is under increased pressure.
When mine went we just replaced the one side, the other looked ok so we just coated it with waxoyl - sold it like this over a year later.
What are you studying at Uni?
