Just picked up this thread. Yes the auto wipers work via a light sensor.

I have never heard of the front mounted aerials leaking. The rear ones were quite common on the late 206's. I would suggest clear silicone around the base to seal it. Investigate again when the weather improves.

Been out trying to fix it,

took the drivers wheel off, thought id take the wheel arch liner off, it dont have one, its been launched by previous owner, so theres another thing to buy :x
took aux belt off fired it up Quiet as a mouse,

The Bearings in the pwr steering pump have gone :(

Also noticed the indicators on the wings didnt want to be on the car, they where just balanced on, the clips have been snapped off +
1 wasnt wired up either, (its now got citroen xsara ones on perfect fit 8)

The airel wasnt bolted to the car thats another job sorted,

Carnt complain realy, igot the car cheap, also noticed its had new brake pads and discs all round and a new exhaust front to back, thats a bonus 8)

I think these days you got to expect these things with an old motor.
I'd much rather buy an old car with a few niggles that the previous owner is. Honest about than buy an old car that's "mint" and find the problems later on.

Yeah your right sam,

Theres not many niggles on it just bits, it looks like the last owner had a tribe of kids, everything small and easy to pull off looks like
theyve worked loose, ive got most of it back to normal now,
on the inside is solid no rips in the interior, just general ming its getting steamed cleaned next week,

on the mechanical side, it needs apwr steering pump everything else that normaly fails on them as been replaced already,

not too bad, icouid run it for 6mths and still get back what ipaid for it, 8)

How do you cross reference parts on service pox?

eg, wouid pwr steering pump off a 1.4 fit 1.6
or any other pugs have same pump,

carnt find any 1.6s in the scrappy :(
