The FTO (Fix Too Often)
Thanks mate, I've always coveted all my cars and lavished love and affection on them apart from the 406 I'm afraid.
The 406 is just my workhorse and doesn't fill me with passion
Looking at your old FTO, I did test drive one before I bought the MR2 but it was a dog I'm afraid, whiny gearbox and knocking from the rear suspension
The FTO's are realy shyte don't worry. The gear selection on this manual one was a nightmare (they're all like it) and yep - knocks from the sussy, very poor soundproofing, ticking engines, air con a nightmare with leaks, stinking interior, not that fast, and the slightest tap on the front end writes the car off....
Like this....... Although it was hardly a Tap, it was a CAT B with chassis damage.
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work

I'd have to agree, that wasn't a tap
Looks even worse than when I ran the VTR (The red one in the pics above) into the back of a rover 620 at 30mph.
That was messy but £3.5k later as good as new.
Yes, me and a czech lorry driver met head-on around the bend - there was nowhere for me to go
He admitted liability later, much later. There's a sign as you enter this road prohibiting lorries (except for loading) - he was just lost, and on the wrong side of the road.

The pic shows your smashed up car, 2 very fresh lorry skid maks on the wrong side of the road and a load of debris, and he had the nerve to deny liablility?

Helloooooo there........Is that and early version of Mrs Dai ??
Looks very quiet around - you probably wouldn't see another soul for hours
That is the one and only Mrs Dai mate, although whether she was Mrs Dai, or Miss "Mrs Dai to be" when that photo was taken is questionable, that car was trans-marriage by a couple of years either way so I can't be sure.
Plenty of spots up that way for countryside activities , but by then we'd bought the house so I somehow doubt any took place .

And, for extra fun, all FTO's of this era came minus any Air Bags, or ABS. Nice.
Interestingly, I still have the number plate for that car on my garage wall - it survived without a scratch
Dear god Welts!
You were lucky there! I've seen pics of eerily similar crashes where it did not turn out so good for the car driver!
On a similar note with your £200 repairs just befor ethe accident: I had just Serviced, taxed, filled to the brim with petrol and blessed with 4 brand new tyres the Nissan Primera I had. Only for its bonnet to flip up on the motorway (writing it off in the process) the next week!
A whole different perspective...
Seriously, you were really lucky too!

When he realised that there were photos showing that, not only was he in a prohibited area, he was on the wrong side of the road and going too fast (check them skidmarks!)
