Fraid I didn't check that setting.....

I was just sitting in the car, marvelling at the convenience of dabbling with pp2k, while on the forum courtesy of 'er indoors's Ipad / surprisingly long range wireless router, when 406oc went all sql-errorish on me.

It occurs to me that the clutch signal just might do something if you have some roadspeed, (after all it's French, it doesn't have to make sense).

steve , what year is you car ? ,i'm trying to fit cruise control to my 2003 hdi i have the cruise switch fitted and enabled in the engine ecu i could see any option in the bsi to enable it, i get a brake fault code when i try and use it as there doesn't seem to be a brake switch just a connector hanging there which is for the brake switch i think, does you car not have this ? :)

I thought this stuff was Siemens :?

December 2003 build. That's the wiring for the redundant brake switch, that's what mine was missing and I've had to run a wire in for it.

Is there a "not" missing from there somewhere?

If you're not finding the option in the BSI, did you follow the navigation here?:

I know, sorry :( I did try to install it on this pc earlier so I might be able to give you some help but Windows 7 really didn't want to play ball

I'm sure when I installed it on the laptop it all went on ok but the program itself wouldn't do anything until I plugged in the gizmo, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't need it to install the program.

You have to get it going yourself before you're allowed in the tree house, sorry.

I installed mine 3 times altogether:

the first time was OK, apart from numpty here completely failing to recognise what the keygen stuff was all about.
second time was a breeze, (coz I could still remember install no.1),
I installed it on my desktop m/c to see if that was why it talked every Pug apart from mine, (my diagnostic port fuse was blown).
Last time, putting it on the replacement laptop several years later, was pretty straighforward.

It doesn't need to 'see' the Lexia interface to install, but PP Orifice won't start unless it's plugged in.

...vaguelly remember having to search for some USB multi-instance driver first time around. :?

Only 3 times? I installed diagbox 6 times and now on my third install of PP!

Just can't get further and its really doing my bloody head in... considering having another go with diagbox on the main laptop (windows 7)....

Agreed, it's just because they're ugly.

Bit like a latter day Ralph Nader - unattractive at any price.

...playing the PP2000 Hokey-Cokey  (you turn the ignition on, ignition off, on, off, on, off, then economy mode shakes you all about :x )

I tried pulling the brake light switch one notch up again to no avail, so I went off searching Doggy's words of wisdom for what he meant about setting the coherence up using PP. I soon came across this pic:
Image
in this thread viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15798&p=155165&hili ... pg#p155165 So I plugged the dreaded PP back in but the cruise control switch refuses to say anything other than active :( I've checked the connector again and clocked from the redundant brake switch connector to the plug on the ecu, so either I didn't put the pin far enough in (I was using a pin pushed in the bottom to test it and it's right down there) or SEDRE is talking ballcocks and it's the wrong pin. Damn :(

While I was in there I set the clutch switch information thingy back to absent. I also checked the BSI for faults:
Image
Interesting... I've cleared them anyway, let's see if that one comes back again.

I also noticed that the sill lights had mysteriously been set back to absent again :frown: Unlike last time they were permanently off. Why does it do that? So I set it back to present, hit the Configuration key, and the program locked up - ARGH!!! NOOOOOOOOO!! Wtf do I do now?? Worrying that just unplugging it would scrap all the settings and possibly the BSI, I rebooted the laptop. It was at this point I realised the car had gone into economy mode  That's a clever bit of design right there. I got that sorted, then I noticed that the multiplexed brightness/rain twin sensor had set itself to present - I knew it had been absent before because I'd been wondering what a twin sensor was about.
Image

I wonder what else has been reconfigured without me knowing :(
