at least its small on the insignia and silent, my friends golf does it but will also tell you to go down a gear. It would be good if it improved economy.
Another thing, the insignia does actually have positive rear camber:

why this is i have no idea, it looks a bit weird.

Also looks like me & Nemo aren't the only ones who couldn't park them straight.

I had a MK3 Astra TDS for 10 years, much much much more reliable than my 406, but not quite as nice and smooth and pleasurable to drive.
Vauxhalls are fine provided they don't put their own engines in.
406 estate, 2.1TD, I fixed her, then part exchanged her for a Mercedes E300TD Avantgarde Estate.
Hmmmm, straight 6 goodness!

fixored :P (the stuff they made before swapping to re-badged Opels in the mid-late 70's was truly dire IMHO).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

the car rental place also had new mondeos which would have been much nicer to travel in than the insignia.

Very old thread, I know.

Went to Belgium & back today in our lastest pool car an Insignia 2.0 CDTI poverty-spec estate. Hard, uncomfy seats, lousy visibilty, fair bit of road & general mechanical noise considering it's <6 months old / 7k miles, over-light twitchy steering, maddening pushbutton handbrake etc. Can't wait to get the dogmobile back tomorrow......

On the plus side, no turbo lag, reasonably wide power band, very good at soaking up bumps, nice tall 6-speed gearing, which doubtless contributes to the economy. Brimmed it last night & tonight, 46.42 litres for 534 miles, more or less at the various legal limits there & back, which equates to 52.3 mpg. I really would like a 6-speed 'box.

I followed a nice 2002 D9 diesel estate along the monsoon-swept M20 this evening, thinking enviuosly, 'he'll be able to see out the back..... and the sides.....and get the stupid lights and wipers to do what you want', jammy sod!

Best thing about my MK4 Mondeo, you can see! It's big but compared to the insignia it's a million times better!
I must say though the works 2.0 Biturbo 4x4 goes like a freaking rocket mid range!
It is loud and uncomftorble though.

Also Farmerpug... thats Negative camber ;)
