Re: and today i have mostly been...
What's a bund wall? Does this mean you tipped all this crap over the wall from outside, thus circumventing the tip nazis?
Day two of loft clearance and I've opened a cupboard up to find it full of china. Oh god, where am I going to put all this? Opened another to find it full of books. Why didn't this house collapse yet? The stack of chipboard panels is now shoved down the side between a joist and a wall, I wouldn't have got much else in there but there are still 3 left, two of which are still full of things I don't know what to do with. Urgh. I'd rather clean up dog poo.

Re: and today i have mostly been...
A bund (bunded) wall is a dwarf wall about 2 feet high. Normally to 'contain' something and typically seen around commercial storage tanks to stop OMG spillage chaos.
In the context of unloading Garden waste this wall provided a quick method of resting a bulging unwieldy poly sack of liquid and me at the ready with a stanley to slash it and get the f*ck outta there pronto. By the time we'd done 20 bags the other side of the bund looked like the Exxon Valdez disaster.
One of the benefits* to living on a non-maintained road.

O I C, stick on the wall, slash it open and run, very good. If I did that one of the bags would have split open in the car...
I grew up in a house at the end of a quarter mile unmade road nobody took any responsibility for other than us (oh, and our neighbour Queenie, but you don't expect much manual labour from an OAP). Every couple of years my dad used to go out and hammer a load of hardcore into it. When they built another house between the two of us they had a gas main laid on, they seemed to put the lane back upside-down, then with all the lorries going to the new house it got almost impassable, Fortunately at the end of it they remade the whole thing and then we moved out before it got too bad again. I see from Google streetview it's now tarmac. I'm not sure if this works but this https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Wes ... fb72?hl=en should be looking back up the lane from in front of the gate of the house I did most of my growing up in (the house has changed a lot since then but I see they still have the cattle grid my dad made)

Looks very peaceful, I always worry that those sort of locations attract burglars types with all that cover.
Our street has actually been removed from Street View we're that special*. It used to be on there but there's a couple of obnoxious arse holes living near me and contacting Google to complain would really make their day, their life even

Re: and today i have mostly been...
It wasn't quite so overgrown when we lived there. Mind you the local rag described it as a "hideaway home" when my mum died. My dad bought it in 1969 (or thereabouts) for the princely sum of 9 grand, partly because it was dilapidated but mostly because it was in the back of beyond and nobody else wanted it. The previous owners (Lightfoot I think their name was) sold up because the wife felt nervous there, it was too far out in the wilds for her. I think they moved somewhere like the New Forest, where a few years later in one of those sick twists of fate, she was raped and murdered.

Re: and today i have mostly been...
Awfully ironic that. I hadn't thought about in years but when I remembered their name it came back to me. I can even remember the shocked look on my dad's face when he heard.

Re: and today i have mostly been...
IT'S ALIVE!!

Not been run since November, I took the battery out in December but with the MOT* coming up I thought it was about time I got the old girl going again .I stuck the battery in it this morning and fired it up - it wasn't keen, fired a few times on one cylinder and then farted into life. Thinking about it, it's not actually been driven since I had the bumper painted last, err, June I think it was (I IZ A SHAIMD
)
Out on the road it feels quite, erm, vibey after the yoyo, at low speeds in high gear the view from the rear view mirror turns into a blur but it feels like it has stacks of oomph compared to the yoyo, it gets up to speed with much less drama and it's easy to pass the speed limit without realising. I also kept forgetting it had another gear to go (and will probably be back to looking for 6th in the yoyo next time I drive it
). All systems check out, even cruise. I took it up the old high road to Klinča Sela and back down the motorway, half an hour round trip, no muss no fuss.

Looking very smart there steve.
Makes me deeply ashamed at the state of mine.
You forget just how nice a 406 is to drive. I thought the trembly rear mirror only came with remap-induced torque overload.

Cheers
It's not actually that clean, it's been covered up all winter but got a bit dusty/smeary all the same.
I think the trembly mirror comes with the "injectors need servicing" feature. Holding it at 2k I can definitely feel a slight misfire so it's probably time I did something with those injectors I got from Stealthe.

The 406 has a 6 speed box?
Looks cracking by the way. Maybe the grumbly engine will get better if you USE THE CAR!

Re: and today i have mostly been...
Nah, the gearing is very high compared to the yoyo (not just the petrol/diesel thing either) so I seem to have one too many in the Pug but one too few in the yoyo. I had the yoyo up to 160 earlier (got sick of the Fiat van 3' behind me), it gets quite noisy over 5k-
Yes, driving it would be good. Trouble is I can't think of anywhere I'd want to drive it and feel like the car wouldn't get damaged while doing so.

Been to the quacks this morning, blood pressure is "significantly" high. Having an ECG at 13:40 and blood tests Friday.
Been feeling 'out of sorts' recently.
