Worst bit is the blood pressure's a 'concern' and they've given me 6 months to try to reduce this myself through exercise and healthy-being otherwise I will be put on medication. Fucksticks. So kick-up-the-arse No.2 is received and understood.

I'm toying with the idea of......wait......sorry......actual jogging  but HATE HATE the stereotypical joggerist in my Village who's typically an ultra-fit annoying bastard who runs because they love it so much and have an electronic record player velcro'd to their arm and a special 'runners warty bottle' to drink from. I'm not a fat hopeless case and in my yoof was pretty toned up but the thought of donning some sports wear and running around fills me with dread. What is a 44 year old who's been told to get fit supposed to wear? f*cked if I'm wearing Lycra shorts but trackie bottoms will be too hot?

Cycling results in instant death around my way so that's out. Early mornings are out as I get up early enough for work already, I suppose I could try late nights but that's after a meal, might not be nice. A running machine won't be used after 2 weeks either you have to actually go somewhere to be motivated.

Welly, I know how you feel I'm 43 & had the same problems a few years back, to much drink & not enough exercise slowly creep up on you over the years

But reading through your posts ( & I am sorry if this seems harsh but) you realy have got to stop moaning/feeling sorry for yourself & do something about it :?
You will always find a reason why you can't, But you have to find the will & then you'll find the way

Take it from some one who knows, not all the time but 2-3 times a week I cycle 20 miles to work & back ( I know not every one can do this but it works for me)
My main point being that i have to leave out at 5.00am instead of 5.40am, but your a long time dead & I quite like life
Anyway I have a 7 year old son & a 5 year old son to think about, oh & the trouble n strife

Oh & having a few projects in the man cave has helped with the boozing, as I would get bugger all done so I just think NO & wait till Sat night :cheesy:
No one says you can't have a drink, just get it down to one night a week & don't get slaughtered

ps I know I probably sound like a born again preacher but on the days I cycle to work & back take it from me I have NO trouble sleeping & the next morning I
wake feeling refreshed (having had a really good nights sleep).

All the best Welly you'll find a happy medium DDD :) .

Welly, when I was running (I avoid it at all costs these days) I used to wear lycra shorts under a set of rugby shorts. The lycra prevented thigh chafe and the rugby shorts made you look slightly less of a tool.

There is also a link between long-term alcohol, er, use and blood pressure, if you manage to knock the boozing on the head you may well see an improvement there too. Get some sleeping pills in, I've had them a few years now (Zolpidem), most of the time it's enough to know that I can take one if I need to so there's no pressure on me to get to sleep. Most of the time I only take half of one, which my GP reckons is so small a dose it's not doing anything, other than just in me head...

Exercise, bleurgh, it's just finding something that you can be happy doing. I wouldn't start off by jogging (it's very hard on the knees you know) but walking might be easier (except I find walking exceedingly boring)

Anyway, if you'll excuse me I'm off to dig a flower bed :frown:

Roads too dangerous apparently. What about psychopaths, sorry, cycle paths? My bro knows where there are loads round his way (some fairly well hidden), plus he uses abandoned railway lines and tow paths.

Meanwhile...

New chainsaw bought. Yeah, it's a Stihl but it seems to be one not available any more because it has (trumpet fanfare) a carburettor  MS362, no C, no M, no Q and definitely no fecking VW. It doesn't adjust itself so many times a second, it's not got super clean exhaust emissions, it's just a boggo chainsaw with a 16" bar.

And then there were 4

The guy that was meant to look at the 076s never showed, so it looks like I'll need to give them a clean and stick 'em in the free ads. Ah well, no rush.

Fuckin amerrycans I can hear the 'whooping' without having the sound on. Who gives a sh*t about an obviously too heavy piece of kit like that with the likelyhood that the chain mechanism will snap, whip once of the fat bastards in the face, who then drops the engine trapping his legs and getting burns from the eggsauces.

Sorry don't like silly kit like that. Or americans.

Just taking it a bit too far really. I did have a video of V8 chainsaw, not the same one, I didn't see the point of keeping it really. It also featured a Harley-powered chainsaw.

Anyroads, both little tillers are now fixed but I still had to go along the flower bed with the big boy first (I even checked youtube in case I was doing it wrong or something, but all the vids seem to start off with, to my mind, well tilled soil that didn't need anything). The last time I did that it caught next door's foundations and flipped on it's side but this time it just flicked it against the wall. It was ok though, my hand on the handle cushioned the blow. Ouch, bastard.

Now cleaning up the 076's ready for floggage, not really fussed though as I think they'd look good on the wall. Maybe I could even get another 90cm bar and have them crossed like swords.

.....Getting brutally attacked by the Dentist :(

She's an excellent Dentist but after the Practice moved to another town last year, and I was busy doing the house up, I missed an intermediate appointment so haven't seen the Dentist for 14? months. My god I feel like each tooth has been hit sharply with a hammer, at one point my mouth was a blood bath.

To do list:

2 x Fillings @ £96.00 each.
1 x Crown @ a 'very reasonable' £480.00 (that bit can FRO) I've needed* this crown for 7 years.

and I've been given these nasty little wire brushy things for doing in-between the teeth (like extreme flossing) she told me it will be horrible and bloody using these for the first 2 weeks but that's a 'good thing' and eventually the blood will stop and I'll have healthier gums.

She asked if I eat sugary things and as a rule I don't enjoy sugars so said no which is basically true but then I remembered I have a sweet to/from work in the car. Funny how you do some things without thinking, seems these sweets might be attacking my teef so they'll be going in the bin then....

I'm very dubious of dentists, I used to be dragged to one regularly when I was a kid but didn't bother for about 15 years and then went to one who told me my teeth were a disaster and I needed 6 fillings. They did three and I was meant to go back for the other 3 but I really didn't fancy it. I left it right until I was about to come out here, another 9 years I guess, and went to another dentist expecting to need about 20 fillings I needed none. I'm pretty sure those three I had were unnecessary and they were just ripping me off. I went to one out here about 5 years back, still no fillings necessary.

My fillings are needed because the old ones had broken, I got zapped with x-rays and shown the cavities straight away so I trust what they're saying and I want to keep my nashers good really it's just quite expensivo.

I guess I was wrong about the Briggs & Stratton oil escape route, I was looking on my spare B&S at something on the carb and now there's a big puddle of oil under it, it's pouring out the silencer - how does that work? Great, oil slick on concrete path, t'wife will be pleased.
