Good hustle on the savings - turn the 2k into more, and buy something half decent. Or go on a holiday somewhere.

Same happened to me, almost bought a Clio 172 Cup - thought stuff it, and went to Europe instead! :P

Well I'm not allowed to spend the money on anything other than a new car
So I think I'm going to wait for abit now, because right now theres nothing out there that really tickles my pickle other than a 406.

the sub £350 406 race series i could just imagine it antipollution fault, dmf squeqks, left indicators and a load of cars unable to sit still at the start line because of wonky handbrakes.
though it would be watchable any running 406 at that money is still a 406 and they like lift off oversteer which is good to watch on a track

xuds at that money might be running bad also with smoke and overheating issues wheras a hdi at the same money wont be overheating just saying coolant level low with a temperature gague that thinks its a graphical equalizer. i dont know enough about the petrol options in the 406 to say what they would be like in this superb race series

XUD's don't break... they just have issues and get faster ;)

How many 406s do you have to buy to be sure that at least one of them works? :P

(Actually, from experience, 1 will do :D )

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

It may well be time to stop sinking money into the Focus. How much have you spent fixing it up since you took ownership, and how many Bernards could you have bought with that money? If it's multiples, then there is a big problem.
