What MPG do you get out of your 406 exec turbo?

Post by lynch86 »

Hi :)

Getting a 406 soon, I'd love to get a 406 turbo exec.

Unfortunately I'm far from minted so I need to know if it's going to drink too much.

So if you own or have owned a exec or sri turbo could you let me know what sort of mpg you get/got pleease?

Much appreciated :cheesy:

If it's a bit too juicey I'll get the 2.0 16v.

up to 45mpg at 60mph on the motorway, about 28mpg at M6 lane 3 speeds, 15mpg urban
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

It's the Urban figure you need to watch, the 2.0T drinks like Peter Barlow on a bad day

In fact the V6 fairs better around town that the 4-pot :o

OUch

Guess that's a 8:1 compression ratio for you, love a v6 but there a bit out my budget and hard to find in a saloon.

Think I'll get the 2.0 16v and stick some bits off the gti-6 in to improve the performance.

Thanks guys :cheesy:

The 2.2 petrol is quicker, drinks a lot less and has a nicer set of long legs in top, but they're not exactly common on the used market.

My 2.0 16v does about 27MPG around town and 50MPG on the Motorway or long journeys. Combined, Im looking at around 34-37 MPG on a tank if I'm careful. Im happy enough with that. Its no HDi but neither is the performance!!!

edit: Can someone tell me the difference between the 2.0 16v engine found in the D9 coupes as opposed to the one found in D8 coupes? They look different.
