195/55/15

Post by CountryPug »

Right guys, after getting most of the mechanical work out of the way, I now want to make my 4ohh look a bit snazier.

I have a set of 5 spoke Mi16 alloys which I had for my 405 (below), they have 195/55/15 tyres fitted. They looked great on my 405 but I'm thinking they may look small under the arches of the 406?

Does anyone on here run 195/55/15's, any pics? If I'm stuck I can swap the tyres from my steelies, they're 195/65/15.

I think its best to put the tyres from your steel wheels on those 405 alloys. 55 is pretty small on a 406 with 15's

Speedo will read over quite a bit with smaller wheels. Will be an extra 6% or so off taking into account the Peugeot speedo isn't the most accurate when checked with GPS. Just means you won't get caught speeding.

Those Mi16 alloys won't fit over your front brakes either.

Aw b*llocks, I never really thought of the 406 having bigger discs/calipers than the 405. Thats that idea out of the window :(

Cheers for the heads up :)

Be worth a try though as some 406's came with 14's and the later spec Mi rims are 15's.

lol, i couldnt help myself and had a go at fitting them yesterday and they dont fit past the caliper, im even more gutted as they looked better with the 406 than I had expected

Aww well, will have to keep my eyes open for something else 8)

Yes, I did see them on Ebay and yes, I would very much like to put them on my 406. I just don't have any money. Would you trade them for some matchsticks, perhaps?

Tom, flaunting your affluence in these challenging times is devisive and frankly, in very poor taste. Have a care for those among us struggling to provide stale bread and gruel for a growing family....
