Haynes Model Engine

Post by Bailes1992 »

We had some 406oc banter few nights ago about a model haynes engine :supafrisk:
Well I went and bought one :cheesy:
And the GF built it

We started off with this...
Image

So I started making the crank...
Image

Then Becca took it off me and carried on
Image

She then gave me the finished crank, I put it in the cylinder block and put the sump on and the stand...
Image

Then I started on the head...
Image

Then she took it off me! :( So I played with her new toy :D
Image

Head on, rockers and rocker cover on and also the timing pullys :)
Image
Image

We then found out the head was on the wrong way... So I refitted the head the right way because Becca got bored.
Image

But hmm whats that over there...
Image

I FORGOT THE BLOODY CAM

Anyway engine timed up, water pump on and the fan belt :D
Image

And the finished article...

And a quick video

I'm thinking of getting an XUD7 or 9 maybe 7TE or 9TE engine... or any XUD for that instance and having a play. Not sure how much it would cost to try get an engine.

It'd probably be cheaper & more interesting if you get one that's gone bang

Anyway, enough of this kid's stuff, come back when you've made something like this :P

Ha - That has to be like 30 RPM! :cheesy:

I wonder what would happen if you were to replace the "electric" motor with something a bit more beefy - think washing machine!
