HEATER PROBLEM (NOT PEUGEOT)

my mate just bought his new car,

the heater fan settings has a setting of 1 - 2 - 3 and 4

it only works on 4

1 - 2 - 3 dont do sh*t

what could this be

Rogered switch or resistor(s) if used.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

what car is it????

sounds to me like the reostat is knackerd
d9 hdi 90 rapier estate

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

yeah i think they have a reostat that controls the voltage to slow the fan on 1 - 2 -3
setting 4 is full volts ie like wireing up stright to battery

the reostat is just a resistor so you mab be able to replace it with one from maplins but that means soldering, so could be easier to get one from breakers

the wire's come ut of the stat then goes into the fan, so it will be behind the glovebox

I remember my dads audi 80 had something like that, a 4 speed fan, 1,2,and 3 offered smaller increases in speed, then 4 was Jet engine strength, a bit of a suprise.

Yuck there ugly as sin,

but imust admit ihad a Daewoo carnt remember the name of it it was the biggest model of the Woos that Was ugly, :shock:
ionly kept it for a Week as a Temp car till ifound another one ,
And when ifound a decent car the Woo went straight on the scales,

day whoo, they were rebadged vauxhalls i think when they started out, and the matiz was based on designs that fiat rejected. That really isnt a great selling point, something fiat didnt like.

My mate as Got a woo Matiz they have been renamed the "pot noodle Gti " he only drives it when he realy realy has too and when its dark,
ithink it must have about 50bhp as its noisey when climbing a low grade hill,

hes left the keys in it a few times hoping someone wouid do him a favour and steal it :lol:
but its always there when he gets back :roll:

pot noodle gti i love that name. On the leaving the keys in the car well that reminds me of a skoda joke, how can you tell the skodas that were built by thieves and the skodas built by normal workers, the ones built by thieves had no parts missing.
