Is this a common problem in the 406?

No mate .idoubt they left the factory like that,
its caused by the Edge of the seat belt cutting thru the plastic as a Guess,
Mines got a slice out of it but not as bad as yours,

ionly noticed it on mine yesterday -passenger side one is perfect no cut :roll:

ps thats the b pillar if its the front seat or c pillar if its the rear seat.

mine isnt like that but i dont wear a sealtbelt (i know i should)

its down to owners/drivers being rough or maybe its been a company car and the driver as been getting in out of the car alot,
