Fuming here, stereo issue

I have a D8.

Bought an Alpine CDE-126BT plus Autoleads PC99-X15 with Alpine patch lead.

Connected as instructed and the stalk doesn't do a thing!

Other than plugging the blocks together, it said to connect the 2 orange wires on patch lead to make a loop, done. Also coming out of the PC99-X15 is an orange, a yellow and a black wire. The black wire is connected to a bit of green wire. None of these are connected to anything and no instructions to do so, therefore left alone.

Any ideas?
