I doubt it, but if I was you I would get it dropped off a cliff, then you can make a claim.

i'd be interested in the responses here as my air con is knakered which was partially my fault as the car bounced on a crap bit of road while doing a legal u-turn, and the thought crossed my mind too

fully comp i would of expected you to be covered for anything.

keep your fingers crossed everyone, my wife phoned my insurance company this morning and guess what :!: they DID NOT say youre not covered for that. What they said was if its water damage its covered(think it might be i drove throght a f*uckin ford), but if its just mechanical failure im not covered, so they gonna sent a mechanic out to look an if he says its water damaged it gets sorted on me insurance, complete with courtesy car and everything only 100 pound excess to pay. SO PLEASE KEEP EVERYTHING CROSSED that the guy they send says yep thats from the water

i'll keep you posted :o

I realy hope you can sort it out fella, I am aware of the water damage clause but allways assumed it meant if your car was caught in a flood like a river burst it's banks or an underground car park.

I hope you are covered as it is 'water damage' after all.

get ya self down to the nearest river bud and start fillin a bucket, run home and fill ya car up :)

just phoned my insurance company and yes i am covered and yes i can have mine repaired

look here for my problem viewtopic.php?t=1396

i will loose 2 years no claims bonus so i wil drop from 65% to 50% and i wil have to pay £200 excess. the garage is just round the corner and i will cost me nothing for them to look at it and tell me exactly what is wrong :)

so next year when i renew my insurance it will be 15% more than this year. i can live with that

yep its a write off. the assessors say it needs a complete engine, which is interesting cos the tow-truck driver that came to take the courtesey car back(a KA) said all they had done was take the plugs out and try and turn the engine over, it wouldnt turn over so thats it it needs a complete engine,Hmmmmmm i think it needs a few bits ie: con-rods, gaskets, new crank seals and bearings while its stripped but a complete engine is a bit OTT but not my choice. i will keep you all posted on any new developments but for the moment i gonna get fitter by walking and if i get desperate enough one of them bus thingies

i been thinking of what to replace it with but my brain keeps thinking FORD MUNDANE so i think i better wait until i get over the shock a bit :frown: :frown:
