i nearly did it on the first day with my car, pulled up to the pumps had the petrol thing in the car, but i read the diesel only sticker which made me stop before any went in.

I did put £20 of petrol in my mums 106, it drove for a while and quit, i put £10 of diesel in it and it went again.

I fill up my works Sprinter 3-4 times a week with diesel then comes the weekend and the 207 needs a splash of petrol. Which pump do you think i grab?

Had the Focus for a week last year, then jumped back in the Puggy, stuck £25's of petrol in it, brimmed it with diesel and it went like sh*t off a shovel

its "resting" at the moment, i am thinking of getting myself a little SJ or something similar to the thingy you have as a weekend toy, the disco is too heavy to tow on a trailer and too pricey to swap the steering over to make it road legal to drive :(

so a lightweight non road legal toy is needed or a road legal RHD toy is needed, either way im already missing my off roading sundays.

but the disco is just not ticking the right boxes sadly so has been moved on to a sympathetic local mechanic who will tart it up over time swap the steering over, plate it, lift it, register it after a year or so to avoid some interesting tax issues and give me first refusal on the sale of it when the time comes.

i definatley can recommend the sj although a samurai is better for the roofless option, though mines dead due to no oil. still its real easy to work on it will be back to life in no time.

My old ZX with an XUD diesel engine. Lend it to a friend and he calls later that he's put £20 of petrol in.

Bloody raging I was

Fills it up with diesel, drives a bit then tops up with more diesel.

After initial hesitation it soon gets back into it's way and actually drove a little bit better, as if the petrol cleared out whatever gunk was in the system. Similar, I guess, to the likes of redex and the likes.

few years back my mate came and picked me up in his 306 dt and it was smoking like a trooper, he had put 20 litres of petrol in realised his mistake then brimmed with diesel . it still ran and once the petrol had gone through the system didnt smoke. ive only had petrols but the vans and pool cars at work are diesel so im always so so careful when filling them

I managed to get 30p worth of diesel in the works petrol astra, would have been more if I'd managed to get the nozzle in properly. Stood on the forecourt for ages trying to work out why the nozzle only went in an inch, the narrower petrol nozzle went in nice and easy
Felt really stupid after as I'd just done a 300 mile round trip in it smiling to myself as I watched the needle hit the red on the rev counter and thinking 'glad this isn't my car' :cheesy:

Actually it's good for a Derv to get a little bit of petrol in it, especially in the winter or when you want to clear it's pipes a little. 15% petrol is even recommended on some booklets in winter afaik.
