Big Forum Hug please?

Post by Bailes1992 »

I am absolutley sick of everything...

Starters college is really winding me up and I'm at wits end and almost going to withdraw.

And then theres the car, this week it threw a wobbly. Map Sensor.
So after I removed the AUX belt and altenator I rounded off one of the Torque screws.
So off comes the inlet manifold. Change the sensor and the car is fine again.

Now my Dad has a thing about oil on the drive, nothing serious I just put sand down before I work on the car and just wash it off afterwards.

So today I thought I'd do my rear brakes, stick my car on the top of the drive and went in to get the brake shoes (left the engine running, always give it run down time).
Just about to reach the front door and though, nah forget it. I'l do it again, no rush. Go upstairs and put the shoes back and walk outside to stick the car down the bottom of the drive.
So I thought "Hmm car round a little tappety" but didn't think much of it. Stuck the car down the bottom of the drive looked at the dashboard and the coolant needles in the red and the oil pressure warning light is on?
Shut it off, got out and noticed there was oily tyre marks down the drive, look at the top of the drive and theres a huge fecking puddle of oil :|
Run down to the car, chucked a tray underneath it, had a look and it was pissing out between the sump gasket.
Undid the sumkp plug and let all the oil drain out...

Then que 3 hours trying to get the big puddle of oil off the tarmac!
Got a new sump gasket and fitted it. All that was there in the first place was some instant gasket :frown:

Ahh well. No more leaks.
But I am sick of everything right now. :x

I dunno what to tell you Sam, all I know is if sh*t happens there's usually more coming but eventually there is an end, and you'll find yourself looking back on it all with a wry smile.

Said it before Sam, that car's turning into a liability! :frown:

Anyway, the college thing, tell us more about what you're doing now. At this time of year and with an apprenticeship looming I'm assuming that you've nearly finished your course, in which case you'd be mad to drop out. Grin and suck it up mate, not long to go 'till the end of year party  (mines tomorrow  )

Not 100% sure it'll materialise but I know I got atleast £1000 towards a new car, it's weather I can syphon the other £5000. Either way I'm not greedy and happy for any money I get :)

It is a bloody liability! And now the top ends tapping (probably along the lines of the fact the engine was running for 5mins with no oil pressure).
Hope you didn't mind me texting you

And we aint having an end of year party :(

No probs at all mate, any time.

So is this year the end of your college course or are you leaving part way through to go do the apprenticeship?

End of year, but college has been a pain since day one.
I went to an open day Spring 2009 and talked to the head of IT who lied to me. Basically said there wasen't much theory and it was 90% practical and I'd be building computers etc.
I'm not very academic,I prefer working with my hands, infact I hate academic stuff. So you can imagine how wound up I was when I started the course to find out the most practical thing I'd be going is swapping a hard drive over. I spend all day every day writing assignments.
The teachers are terrible, you can tell they have never even experienced IT in the real world.
And the equiptment we are suppyed with is utter shite!
I was sitting an ECDL Advanced exam and the PC crashed 3 times. I refused to resit as I know thaty exam was spot on. So I got a bollocking because I sat there and refused to resit. Why should I resit? grrrrr...

Either way, I don't think I'm going to finish, I have no motivation. I just cannot bare doing any more assignments. To top it off I got a Cisco exam tommorow.
And instead of physically doing any networking excersises we do them on a program called packet tracer which is a simulation software. Which is great an all but half the people in my class can setup a network on this packet tracer but would be stumped if they had to do it for real.

Sam just grin and bare it for the last few weeks mate, you might not think its much use now but in the future it will help, even if its just another qualification on a CV it all helps mate, take it from an old man that wasted far too much of his youth not finishing things

As for the funds for a new motor, get that feckin fucos chopped in for something else asap its just gonna get worse and you dont even like the thing, use what ever funds are available and get yourself another pug, you know you want to

Hmmm, sounds shyte tbh! You owe it to yourself to finish the year though mate, otherwise you've just wasted 2 years.

In all fairness the wasting two years bit dosen't bother me, I could have done allot worse.
But even now I got coursework up in the background and it's making me sick to even look at it :(
