Something Familiar

Post by FarmerPug »

I was doing some garedening today at my aunts, she has a 2005 Suzuki Vitara and me being a bit of a fan of the brand i had a drive.
The engine sounded particularly familiar, it drove very similar to something ive been in before. So i opened the bonnet look whats in there:

am i correct in saying this is a HDI engine in here, theres a lot of stuff about the engine that looks the same, the egr looks the same, the MAF sensor looks the same, oil cap, an a lot of other stuff.
It looks so much better in the longtitudinal form, much easier to work on the major parts.

Well the air manifold and injectors look awfully familiar, (but not quite the same). It's obviously a common rail diesel and similar to a 16V pug, but you can't be sure, that top-mount intercooler hides most of it.

the rocker cover on the engine looks almost identical.
It sounds quite similar, but theres less sound deadening in the vitara than the 406.

According to this.........http://www.dieseljones.co.uk/common-rai ... 10008.html

The injectors match the Citroen Berlingo 2.0HDi and I think I may have just stumbled across the cheapest supplier of injectors??? (£90.00 each) :o

vitaras have the transfer box built into the gearbox wheras mine has a seperate box and transfer case but its probably still possible to sandwich it all in 110 in it would just be madness

the xud conversion kit £1800 only i could buy my jeep 4 times for that price.
i dont want a diesel suzuki, its just wrong, some things should never have a diesel small fiats, small suzukis and motorbikes keep diesel away from them its more fun to rev the nuts off them. Diesel would be ok for towing but i dont need a towing machine.
