Moved to the darkside

Post by xero01uk »

Hi all

While its been fun to own my 406 it got to a stage where i was constantly fixing things and more than that I couldnt afford to run it (esp with the high fuel costs) so its with great sadness that my 406 is no more, I sold it this afternoon and got a Renault Meganne 1.6 16valve V reg in its place

heres a few pics of her:

Shes got 89,000 miles on the clock and only 2 owners (unlike my 406 which had 6!!), managed to get her Tax and insured this afternoon :)

Nice one!

Looks like a sporty wee thing! Best of luck, and hang about with the rest of us post-406 hangers-on :P

I assume your neighbours don't like people parking in front of their garages?

The Coupe Club have been cannibalizing the motorized rear quarterlight assemblies from this model of Megane to allow the rear windows on their Coupes to move eletrically :cheesy:

It's weird that the 406 Coupe rear quarterlight windows are manual, even on the top-spec ones. Apparently it's fairly easy, but time-consuming, to install the motors and switches from the Megane Coupe into the 406 Coupe.

yea i'll be hanging around for a while yet, when i picked the car up i had to shove a tenner in it, and i was quite shocked when the trip computer said i could do 112 miles on that tenner!
Now when i shoved a tenner in the 406 it got me to Telford and to Wolverhampton and a small amount of pottering round local garages until the light came on again!!

The electric rear window in the Megane are kinda cool, but atm only the passenger rear one works (need to have a look at the wiring) the drivers rear works fine :).

I bodged the airpipe yesterday with black electrical tape and all is good with it so far
