Good-bye Pug :(

Post by Zippokovich »

Well if all goes to plan tomorrow i'm leaving the 406 owners club. Its all happened very fast in the last few days but I felt my car was getting a bit long in the tooth and though it might have run for another few years, my dad buying a new car recently sparked my interest in new cars.

So I decided I wanted a more luxurious and faster version of the 406 and settled on a Jag X-type. After 2 days looking I found one with the toys I wanted and the right engine in good nick - its as old as my Pug but in very good condition.

So I'm going to get it tomorrow and trading in my big green pug and I'm going to miss it. Its been a very good car to me despite some faults. The first car you buy yourself (my 2nd car over all) is always a special one, especially since I only had my first car (a 306) for a year before someone wrote it off. The Pug is in good condition too and I'm hoping to get 500-600 for it in part ex.

You guys on here have been a great help over the years with any questions and niggles I had, and I thank you for that.

Onwards to bigger and better I suppose :)

Stay around!

Considering half of the 406oc doesn't actually own 406's anymore... :P

Enjoy the Mondeo

My boss has one (2.0 turbodiesel) with a white leather interior, with ashwood dash trim (basically black), it's very swanky.

But yeah, stick around, and remain part of the increasingly inaccurately-named 406 Owner's Club :cheesy:

With the Fords it's not so much an owners club, but a constantly-fixing club.

I've had more help with Honda queries than I have had from the Honda forums!

And Bailes gets help in diagnosing his Focus :)

+1, they're not actually nicer to drive, more comfortable or faster unless we're talking about a 2.7 HDI. But yeah, your choice I mean after all it does say Jaguar on the front and not Peugeot if that was your main problem :cheesy:

An XJ, diesel. Has to be automatic.

OR a Citroen C6. Given DiscoPols woes I'd take out an extended warranty, but I'd still be tempted.
