Apologies and reasons for my absence.

Post by DiscoPol »

Hello all,

sorry not had time to stick up the pictures from the meet yet, the main reason has been a family holiday, of which i am still in the middle of but also the fact that the C5 is now bedded down in the Citroen stealers, the fault on the suspension was first diagnosed as the front and rear height sensors for the hydractive sussy, so parts were ordered and i was advised not to drive the car any more than necessary and to stay below 55mph,

fine i thought,

now Bailes had noticed some oil on my front nearside alloy at the meet and i pointed this out at the garage today when i dropped the car off and asked them to check the front driveshaft oil seal as i was convinced that i had a weep there, well under inspection it turned out this was infact oil from a busted shocker on the nearside and now i am sitting with fingers crossed that they can get one in time and get it fitted by friday pm at the latest as my ferry to europe is booked for saturday,

costs are mounting, im just grateful that its all under warranty but i do have to pay out here first for the work and then citroen polska will refund me on my arrival back in sunny poland.

this is causing some severe problems for me now though as i was committed to a visit down to our very own Dai on friday but without a car that isnt going to happen and who knows if i will make my ferry on saturday or not???

arghhhh, i need a holiday!!!

Hope it gets fixed quick then Dan. Got to be said though, what the hell are these things going to be like at 10 years old if they're like this in the first 12 months? & it's a poor show that you have to pay & claim it back. What if it was terminal & 4 figures? Not everybody can manage that sort of a bill at the drop of a hat.

Getting more drawn to that Beemer now, in spite of the extra fuel costs. Only thing is, even that isn't such a sure thing for reliability any more - girl at work has a 57 plate 320 Touring (£18k from a dealer a year ago) & that keeps having engine management troubles.

Unlucky DiscoPol.

Poor show from Citroen, I was hoping they had got their QA in place, but it doesn't look like it unfortunately :(

Looks like the Xantia was their peak and it all went downhill after that.

I'll be sticking to Japanese for a while yet, which is a huge shame as I love big Citroens. :(

Cyclo-terrorists at work?

Sorry to hear about your problems, but hopefully once the dodgy shocker's been replaced all will be well again. You need a bit of perspective to decide if it's going to be troublesome or not - this might be the only glitch.

Hope so anyway.

Failing that, put the Sinclair on the trailer & tow it wiv the Suzuki. :supafrisk:

Pretty rough that you have to shell out for the part upfront and then get reimbursed after the fact when you arrive home in PL!

Glad our resident Focus lover picked it up to start with! :cheesy:
