My New Car

Post by waue1978 »

The seller sent me over a few more pics of my purchase this morning, so thought I'd share them to see what everyone thinks:

Need to budget for tax at £260, but can't expect a years tax for the price I've won it at. Hopefully the dent in the bootlid will be a PDR job, but if not, I can always keep an eye out for another one at a breaker. Can't see the scuff on the bumper in these shots, but if she ends up staying for the long term I may just get the M5 bumpers on.

Still no interest on here for the Pug, so it'll probably be going on Autotrader next weekend minus a few bits & bobs, so there may be some window switches, non-smoker kit & alloy wheels coming up for sale on here over the next few weeks.

To be honest, there's only one person on here that I can think of would be seriously interested, but I don't think he's actually in the market yet.

Looks very tidy. 8)

Fairly dark shade of white, IMHO.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

A white one would have been nice, but probably wouldn't have been the bargain this is. Hopefully picking it up on Friday, then going to Horsham to collect some rubber tiles for the garden, so I'll get a good idea of town & long run MPG figures from that so that if it looks like it will be too expensive, I can just polish it up & sell it on.

There was a silver one 3 miles away from me in Autotrader last week for £2495 with more miles, but leather interior & when I phoned to have a look it was already sold. At the very least I could probably run this for 6 months & get my money back on it.

I've got 2 sets. Both with tyres with at least 3mm tread left.

16ins Nautilus from the limited edition Silver & Black coupes. These are on the car, recently refurbished (cost nearly £300) with no scuffs as I've been very carefully kerbside parking since fitting them:

16ins Hoggars. Not refurbed, but very clean. Pic is not of the actual set, but of another that I sold a while ago. The ones I have are much cleaner:

Obviously whichever ones are worth more sold separately will go, but if anybody wants to do a deal that would give me a set of 15ins alloys with similarly useable tyres, then I'd be able to do a bit of a deal somewhere.

To be honest, the Hoggar's are the easiest as they don't need taking off the car. I'm a fair distance from you though (location is here ---->)

If you want them & don't mind the travelling, PM me & we'll see what we can sort out money & time-wise. Will get more details on the tyres & actual tread depths for you then too.

It certainly is. I did say to my father that if I got another one I was going to get the lazy version. It's just easier on the legs when I'm sat uphill in the school run traffic.

Not especially a fan of the wood. I liked the silver effect that was in my old one better, but not going to start changing too much until I know how long it's staying. Then I'll probably start with leather sport interior & M5 bumpers.

Debadge it (as nobody will know its a 520i) and throw a set of nice BBS wheels on there and you will have one tidy tidy E39!

Looks like a good find too, with climate control and leather interior. There's nothing worse than a low spec 5'er - hard to sell on!

My favorite BMW of all, except perhaps the M1 and E30 M3. Looks really, really tidy, nice find Mr. Waue :)

Nice looking car Waue!
I hope it's not too much of a squeeze going from an estate to a saloon, has it got a reasonably sized boot?

Believe it or not, the saloon boot is actually more useable than on the estates. The only real deficit is that the rear seats don't fold down in this one (through loading is a rare option on BMW saloons), but I've just told the wife that she can give over buying bloody furniture for me to pick up for a while.

It hasn't got leather, but if she ends up staying for long term I'd probably look at fitting a leather sport interior. I'll probably look at popping the badges off when I give her a good clean up though.

Used to have these wheels on my old one & would be nice to get another set, but only when the tyres need changing:
